Christmas Wedding Centerpieces

If you are looking for good ideas to create Christmas wedding centerpieces, you’re not alone.  Getting married during the holidays seems to be a growing trend these days. Although it can be a hectic time to get married, Christmas is a time where family is together and for this reason alone, it may be more convenient to get married during the holidays. Christmas also brings about many beautiful decorations, such as winter flowers, snow covered trees and lit candles.

One of the main decorations you will be needing for your winter wedding are the wedding centerpieces. You want your Christmas centerpieces to look stunning as they will serve as main focal point for each of your tables. Not only will guests be looking at your centerpieces the whole evening through, but you can if you wish send them home with your guests as well.

Whether you choose to make your own wedding centerpieces or have them professionally made, there are many choices available. First, consider what types of Christmas themes you want to incorporate into your centerpieces. Flowers are a good place to start, so check with your florist to see which flowers are available during the winter months.

You can also include winter foliage into your Christmas wedding centerpieces, including holly or ivy. Adding greenery is an expensive way to add a wintry, holiday feel into your centerpieces. For an added touch, choose to use garland wrapped around your centerpieces. Opt for garland that will match the colors of your wedding.

Candles are another popular Christmas item for wedding centerpieces and the choices available are endless. Many people enjoy the look of pillar candles, which can be matched to the colors of your wedding. You can also choose floating candles or tea lights that can serve as a soft glow throughout your wedding reception.

Another popular Christmastime item are pine cones. Pine cones are inexpensive or even free if you have pine trees in your area, and can be used to decorate your festive centerpieces. For a wintry look, add white paint and sparkles onto the pine cones to represent snow. As an added touch, add red cardinals to your pine cone arrangement.

If you are looking for other creative ways to implement color into your Christmas wedding centerpieces, opt to use colorful, round ornaments. The ornaments are not only festive, but can be purchased in bulk and are easy to work with. For a finishing touch, have the names of the bride and groom painted onto the ornaments.

Beach Wedding Centerpieces

At my beach themed wedding, I had the most beautiful beach wedding centerpieces that were the cheapest and easiest centerpieces ever. I went to the dollar store and bought enough shallow glass bowls for all of my tables, two for tables that were longer. They had little bags of seashells in their arts and crafts section and I picked up some of those too. I had the idea that I wanted to have some kind of lighting that was romantic but not too distracting so I got some floating candles just to see what I could do. The outcome was amazing!

I filled the bottom of the glass bowls with the seashells and then filled them with water almost to the very top so the candles wouldn’t touch the seashells and had room to float around. When you drop the candle in there and light them it is absolutely gorgeous! If you want to prolong the life of your candles, don’t light them. Once they have burned for a while it soon just becomes a big blob of melted candle wax floating on the water.

Beach Wedding Centerpiece

A couple other ideas that I tried were using sand dollars and starfish as well, depending on the season though, they can be kind of hard to find. Many specialty shops sell them but they are kind of pricey. During the summer time, beach themed weddings are very popular and beach wedding centerpieces are easy to come by on the internet. Flip Flop picture frames of the couple are very popular.

If you plan on ordering tropical flowers for your beach wedding centerpieces, be advised that they are not usually carried in-stock in the United States because we do not have the right climate in most places here. They are very costly and will have to be picked up close to the time that you plan on using them because they will wilt very fast. Another alternative you could use if you want flowers it to use silk blossoms but they do not have the same look and are not as attractive as the real flower itself.

Fall Wedding Centerpieces

Fall wedding centerpieces can be done with traditional fall colors, like deep oranges, fire red and sunny yellows. The possibilities are endless. The wedding reception area will look stunning with a combination of fall colors and seasonal foliage. The red and orange color combination, give off a feeling of warmth and tranquility, perfect for any wedding theme.

A fall wedding centerpiece can include candles, flowers, colorful foliage or even real fruit. A beautifully crafted candle ring made with fall foliage is the perfect addition to any candle centerpiece. An assortment of orange, red, and yellow floating candles in a clear red bowl, are another idea.

Choosing to really get in the fall harvest tradition could include centerpieces made with pumpkins or gourds. Surround the pumpkins with some elegant maple leaves to add even more color. The pumpkins can be painted with the names of the bride and groom to really personalize the centerpiece. Crabapples added to the set up, is a perfect way to add some red into the color scheme.

Using the beautiful leaves of fall can make gorgeous fall centerpieces as well as be an inexpensive way to decorate your tables. One way to incorporate the usage of fall leaves is to put them in a dark brown basket or a decorative box. You can add special touches of color by placing a flower here and there and for the head table you can do something extra such as surround the basket with a couple of colored wine goblets. You can use real leaves if you have access to some nice ones but you can also very easily buy fake ones in the store especially during this time of year. There is also special craft glue you can purchase for those who want to layer them a certain way.

Autumn wedding centerpieces made up of brass leaves in a variety of styles and highlighted with a votive candle would be stunning. The brass would provide the perfect glow to any reception area. Brass candle holders molded into leaves would look stunning surrounded by bright fall foliage. An assortment of red and yellow dahlias arranged in a brass vase is absolutely breath taking.

Bronze is another color that would fit into the fall color scheme. Bright red and yellow candles would be perfect set in a bronze plated taper candle holders. Surround the tapers with a variety of sunflowers and maple leaves to create the perfect fall centerpiece. Sunflowers placed in bronze vases another combination that could bring your fall wedding colors together.

Acorns are another traditional part to any fall decorating theme, and can be used to decorate any of your fall wedding centerpieces. Use a group of acorns or randomly include them in candle rings or other foliage. Apples are another common food harvested in the fall, that could make not only a beautiful centerpiece, but an edible centerpiece. A harvest theme could include cornucopias as centerpieces, surrounded by acorns and apples.

Winter Wedding Centerpieces

A professional flower arranger who specializes in unique flower arrangements is the person to locate for a different look for your winter wedding centerpieces. Whether you go with silk flowers, mixed silk and fresh, or all fresh flower centerpieces, you want someone to make those centerpieces with you in mind.

If your wedding centerpieces are going to be a project for your wedding maids to prepare for the reception, then you can plan on visiting some retail art and craft supply stores and choosing a central theme. If you would like snow fairies dressed in sparkling gowns nestled in snowy evergreen settings, you can find as many identical snow fairies as you have tables. The project is really simple.

If you plan a more romantic look then ice skaters dressed in long robes on a miniature ice skating rink would be a romantic touch as they are nostalgic. Any theme that is reminiscent of the past is considered romantic if the emotion evoked is one of warmth even in icy conditions.

Winter wedding centerpieces can be as simple as miniature snow balls arranged into wedding cakes and decorated differently for each table with a married snow man and snow woman couple dolls on top. Or they can be as elaborate as snow fairies and couples dressed in long coats and mufflers skating on small round mirrors made to look like an ice skating rink.

What you want to keep is the same look in the centerpieces for all of your tables. A different centerpiece on each table really doesn’t look good. Just as you chose a color pattern for your bridesmaids and for your flowers, your centerpieces should also have a unifying look. And, really some people do have winter weddings in hot places like Florida or the Bahamas.

Your wedding centerpieces should be whatever you feel expresses your feelings of love and joy at getting married. Warmth and celebration inside while the elements howl on the outside is also a thought to keep in mind.

You could have miniature fireplaces with a married couple sitting on chairs and a dog wagging its tail as sign of the family life that you expect. Your winter wedding centerpieces will look charming if given a little thought like a little spray of primroses in a crystal vase for each table, they are uniquely the bride.
